IDC, premier market intelligence provider, released a report last week that predicted the number of worldwide mobile workers will reach 1 Billion by 2011. Yes, that's right - 1 Billion; nearly 75% of the U.S. workforce.
Enhanced mobility is topping the 2008 technology & business prediction lists, and at Chalk we're not surprised. The enormity of the mobile market is the precise reason we identified a growing need for impactful enterprise mobile content.
Read on for an explanation of how content deployed through Mobile chalkboard™ is different than email, a tip for maximizing your mobile modules, a glimpse at additional resources we're working on, and much more.
Enjoy!
Best,

Q: What does Mobile chalkboard™ do for me that I can't get from sending a group email?
A: For starters, content is more secure than email because it cannot be forwarded, and is also fully tracked - so you know when it has been reviewed and to what degree. In addition, content delivered through Mobile chalkboard™ doesn't show up in (or get lost in) your inbox. Rather, Mobile chalkboard™ houses your mobile content and lets you progress through it using intuitive navigation. You can also receive large media assets (like video or audio files) and take tests and surveys.
Q: I understand that I can deliver rich content, tests, and surveys to employees within my company, but is there a way for me to reach my customers who have a BlackBerry?
A: Yes. Mobile chalkboard™ allows you to reach people in your Extended Enterprise, including customers, business partners, and associates. Simply by signing up and installing the Mobile chalkboard™ player on their BlackBerry, your extended enterprise users will be able to receive critical updates, promotional material, or opportunities to provide feedback. Mobile chalkboard™ can deliver videos, audio files, images, text and surveys seamlessly, just as you would to those within your organization. Best of all, you will be able to track who has viewed the content and compile a report on test or survey results.

TIP: Maximize your modules for effective mobile consumption.
It's important to keep your audience in mind when you develop a module for mobile distribution. Help make it easy for them to absorb information on-the-go by keeping the amount of text light and using a font size that's easy to read. You can add more detail to your module with audio voiceover - this is easy to do right from your desk with the 'Record Sound' option in Mobile chalkboard's PowerPoint Add-in.
TRICK:
Tired of wondering if your message was received?
Instead of leaving important information in a voicemail for a colleague, why not send your message using Mobile chalkboard? Not only can you quickly create a message that includes audio and visuals to illustrate your point, you can also track when the recipient opens the message and views it in its entirety. You could even add questions or survey items to solicit feedback.

Since our last newsletter, we launched Version 4.3 of our software - in addition to several sub-releases! New features we're most excited about include:
- PowerPoint Add-In
- Support for Extended Enterprise
- Intelligent Delivery with Retry Logic
- Large Asset Delivery
- Delivery Status Report
- Extended Device Support
