Meet Gina!

Q: What is your name?

A: Gina Schultz

Q: What is your favourite/most used feature in Planboard?

A: Planner, Timetable, Templates

Q: How has Planboard made your life easier?

A: I came from middle school planning only ELA subjects to 1st grade planning multiple subjects with multiple ability levels. Planboard has helped me with time management, differentiation, and organization.

Q: What education trend are you excited about? Why?

A: Personalized Learning/Choice Boards – all my students learn at different paces and in different ways, so learning how to personalize their learning helps me be a more effective teacher.

Q: Why did you decide to become a teacher?

A: I subbed for my son’s 1st grade class 20 years ago and fell in love with it. I was almost finished with my psychology degree, but changed my major to education after subbing in his classroom. I have never regretted my decision and have been teaching for 17 years now.

Q: If you could take your students on any field trip, where would you go?

A: When I was teaching middle school, I would have taken my students to visit Mt. Vesuvius; we always did a huge research and writing paper over Pompeii. Teaching 1st grade now, I would take my students to Florida to visit the Space Rocket launch and the ocean!

Q: What is your favorite way to unwind after the school year has ended?

A: Spending time with my puppers – one chocolate lab and one black lab!!!
